Yui Asaka

Yui Asaka (born December 4, 1969, in Miyazaki, Japan) is a Japanese actress, singer, and former idol. She made her singing debut in 1985 with the single “Natsu Shoujo” and rose to wider fame as the lead in the third series of the cult television drama Sukeban Deka in 1987. Asaka subsequently appeared in Sukeban Deka: The Movie (1987) and Sukeban Deka: Kazama San Shimai no Gyakushū (1988), and starred as the heroine of the live-action manga adaptation YAWARA! (1989). After taking a break from show business in 1993, she returned in 1997 and later focused primarily on acting, appearing regularly in Japanese television dramas and variety shows.
