Privacy Notice
Last updated: 5 September 2026
This notice explains what personal data aWatch collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
When you sign in with Discord we receive your Discord user ID, username, display name and avatar. As you use aWatch we store your watchlist, per-title status, episode progress, watch history and your account settings such as subtitle style.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your email address, payment details or any government identifiers. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Why we use it
Your Discord details identify your account and show your name and avatar in the app. Your watchlist, progress and settings exist so that aWatch can do what it is for: remember what you are watching across devices and browsers.
Where it lives
We store account data on our backend. Your browser keeps a sign-in token so you stay signed in, plus a short list of recent searches that never reaches us. Clearing site data removes both.
Third parties
Discord handles authentication under its own privacy policy. Title information and artwork are fetched from third-party databases such as TMDB; your browser loads those images directly from their servers. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes your profile, watchlist, progress and settings from our servers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal data. You can see and edit most of it directly in the app. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use aWatch after a change means you accept the updated notice.
