This first episode begins with Guy testing every piece of equipment in his workshop to find out which items use the most electricity. Horrified by what he's now having to pay for power, he tries to work out the reasons behind his big bills, and visits his local power station at Drax - which also happens to be the country's biggest

On a visit to the national power grid HQ, Guy's put in charge of keeping the country's lights on. He also heads out to sea and the world's biggest wind farm.

What does the future of UK energy look like? Guy helps build a nuclear power station, conducts an experiment in fusion, and goes to work inside Britain's most toxic site.
