We are introduced to Núi, a young boy living in Hải Phòng during the 1960s. Núi, along with his siblings Sông and Biển, faces rejection from their father, Mr. Đại, who refuses to acknowledge them as his children. As the Vietnam War intensifies, the children are sent to live with their maternal grandparents.
