To mark the 250th anniversary of US independence, this documentary examines the values upon which the American nation is founded – a nation now in the midst of Trump’s second presidential term – and is structured around four main themes: the ideal of freedom, the prominence of religion, the American dream and love of country.

Linked to the principle of freedom and the concept of divine blessing, the figure of the self-made man contributes to the development of American-style capitalism: the state must guarantee fundamental rights, but must not interfere in the economy.
