Matt Baker and his family face one of the biggest projects of their lives: transforming an old barn, granary and stable beside Matt's parents' farmhouse into a new home of their own.

In the first episode, Matt and Nicola begin clearing out decades of memories and belongings, and build a new path after Mike has a fall. But with a sheep needing to be rescued and flocks to feed in the snowy fields, the day-to-day demands of farm life wait for no one.
The barn conversion gathers pace, but the Bakers face an uphill battle as foundations need digging and walls need rebuilding. And a new Welsh Mountain ram joins the Baker clan. Matt is on a mission to make life easier for his mum and dad, clearing an overgrown track through the ancient woodland so that they can once again access the woods and Janice can keep a closer eye on her sheep.
The stonemasons start rebuilding the old gingang, but first the floor needs to be dug up and re-laid. Meanwhile, Nicola begins to renovate an auction-bought kitchen table. Away from the barn build, lambing begins, and the family must step in to save a lamb. Mike's beloved 1946 Dodge is finally about to return home after a painstaking restoration.
