Jae-bak is a man in his 40s who feels burned out by both work and family life. He works as a sales manager at a publishing company. The only bright moment in his day is seeing Yu-hui, a beautiful young woman who waits for the subway every morning while sucking on a red lollipop. For 100 days, Jae-bak quietly watches her from afar before finally meeting her at a bookstore. As they grow closer, he even follows her home one day. Eventually, the two share a kiss on a beach at sunset and begin to develop feelings for each other. But soon after, Jae-bak starts hearing disturbing rumors about Yu-hui.

After her husband ends up in a vegetative state as a result of a car crash, Ji Su finds little reason to live. She went through the daily motions of life in a trance-like manner until Park Son Gi, a new caregiver, arrived. Son Gi’s contagious energy brings life to Ji Su’s house and slowly opens her heart.

This is the story of Gye Choon-bin, a quirky and spunky kindergarten teacher, and Wang Ki-nam, a timid art therapist who cannot even earn enough to pay his rent. Ki-nam's developing relationship with Gye Choon-bin helps him overcome his fear of the dark and fall in love.
